Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande opened the Oscar 2025 with an epic mixture of three songs in the universe “The Wizard of Oz”.
Great, dressed in a shiny red dress, the set began with a powerful interpretation of “Somowhere Over The Rainbow”, surprising the crowd while leaving a cloud of smoke with a background of night sky.

When Grande left the stage, Ento left with a bulky white dress to make a version of “The Wiz” by Diana Ross of the 1978 film of the same name.
The two then joined strength to tear down the house “Wicked“Favorite”, challenging gravity “when the crowd roared in a standing ovation.
In a moving moment, the camera passed its “evil” star Ethan Slater in the crowd. He had tears in his eyes as he proudly applauded the performance.

Erivo, Grande and Slater starred in the film “Wicked” of 2024. Erivo portrayed Elphaba Thropp, the protagonist of the film, which is misunderstood by her green skin. Slater portrayed Boq.

The film directed by Jon M. Chu is an adaptation of Broadway musical based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.” Maguire’s book explores characters from “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum and his sequelae.
Upon entering the awards program, “Wicked” had 10 Oscar nominations, including the best film.
Earivo and Grande were also nominated for the best actress and best cast actress, respectively.
For Great, Glinda’s role has been one who always wanted to interpret.

Erito has also shared how Elphaba’s role is one that she appreciates.
